ALFE LLC is a licensed Central Florida general contractor that builds and renovates animal hospitals and veterinary clinics across the greater Orlando area. Veterinary facilities are among the most technically demanding commercial projects in construction — part medical facility, part surgical suite, part boarding and part laboratory — and they require a builder who understands the specialized systems a working animal hospital depends on.
Why veterinary hospital construction is specialized
A veterinary clinic is not a standard commercial build-out. Done right, it has to support medicine, surgery, imaging and animal housing all under one roof. Key requirements we design and build around include:
- Surgery suites & treatment areas with sterile finishes, dedicated power and the right lighting.
- Kennels, runs & boarding with trench drains, sloped sealed floors and epoxy or FRP surfaces that clean and disinfect easily.
- Ventilation & odor control — high air-exchange HVAC, separate zones and negative-pressure isolation rooms for infectious or contagious patients.
- Sound attenuation so barking doesn’t carry into exam rooms, offices or neighboring tenants.
- Radiology / imaging rooms with lead shielding engineered to Florida Department of Health radiation requirements.
- Medical gas — oxygen and anesthesia with proper scavenging, installed to NFPA 99.
- Specialized plumbing for runs, grooming, dental and lab stations, plus durable, water-resistant wall and floor assemblies throughout.
What we build for veterinary clients

Every system under one licensed team
What sets ALFE apart for medical-grade construction is that the specialty trades are in-house or in the family. ALFE holds Florida General Contractor, Roofing and HVAC licenses, and medical gas and specialized plumbing are handled through our affiliated company, Blessed Solutions US LLC (NFPA 99 medical-gas certified). That means the HVAC zoning and air exchanges, the medical-gas lines, the drainage for kennels and the radiology shielding are all coordinated by one accountable team — not a chain of outside subcontractors you have to manage.
Permitting, code & inspections
Veterinary facilities must meet the Florida Building Code, accessibility (ADA) requirements, fire and life-safety code, and Department of Health rules for radiation shielding. A change in how a space is used often triggers a change-of-occupancy review, and you generally can’t open until final inspections and the Certificate of Occupancy are issued. We manage the full permitting path through the City of Orlando and the surrounding county building departments.
Frequently asked questions
Do you handle medical gas and X-ray shielding for veterinary clinics? Yes. Medical-gas systems are installed to NFPA 99 through our affiliated certified company, and radiology rooms are shielded to Florida DOH requirements.
Can you build out a veterinary clinic in a leased commercial space? Yes — tenant build-outs are a core part of what we do, including the specialized plumbing, HVAC, drainage and finishes a clinic needs.
How long does a veterinary hospital build take? It depends on size and whether it’s new construction or a build-out; most of the schedule risk is in design, permitting and long-lead equipment rather than construction itself.
Can you keep our clinic open during a renovation? Often yes, by phasing the work — we build and inspect new areas before tying them into the operating clinic.
