Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
A standard full bathroom runs about three to five weeks once materials are on site. Tile, waterproofing and cure times set the pace more than labor does.
Do bathroom remodels need a permit?
Yes, whenever plumbing or electrical is moved or added, which is most full remodels. Replacing a vanity and a toilet in place usually does not. We pull the permit and schedule inspections when it is required.
Can you convert a tub into a walk-in shower?
Yes, and it is one of the most requested changes we do. It involves relocating the drain, rebuilding the floor slope and waterproofing correctly, which is why it needs a permit and an inspection.
What waterproofing do you use?
A proper membrane system behind the tile, not just the backer board. Bathroom failures in Florida are almost always waterproofing failures, and they show up as damaged framing a few years later.
Do you handle small bathrooms and half baths?
Yes. Half baths and guest bathrooms are often the fastest projects we do and a good way to see how we work before committing to a larger remodel.
